Pedro Coutinho

Founding Partner / CEO

With over 20 years of experience in finance and venture capital Pedro spent the last 12 years African Continent, namely Angola, South Africa and Mozambique, where he was investment manager in the Property; Energy and Financial Services Industries.
Pedro started with Espírito Santo Group, initially with the Private Equity arm of the business. When in Africa, Pedro was leading Business Development for Espírito Santo Group in Angola, South Africa and Mozambique with focus on the (Property; Energy and Financial Services). Pedro led the feasibility of just over 2,500 MW of Renewable Energy and over 100.000 sqm of corporate commercial and office property in South Africa and Mozambique respectively.
In 2015 Pedro incorporated Source Capital, headquartered in Maputo.

Kevin Fleischer

Founding Partner

With 30 years experience in finance and venture capital, in advising and investing in South, West and East Africa, UK and the Middle East, Kevin worked in Corporate Finance at Morgan Stanley in New York and London, before becoming a Partner at a UK-based emerging-markets structured finance firm. He was a registered member of the then UK Securities and Futures Authority. From 2002 to 2005, Kevin was the founding CEO of Blue Catalyst, a venture capital project of the South African government. He was a member of the Executive Committee of the South African Venture Capital Association. Kevin consults to government and industry on media, education and small business policy, and is a fellow of the Aspen Institute’s Africa Leadership Initiative. He has a BA in Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Masters in Finance from Oxford.

Zein Faruk

Group CFO

Zein has an Honors degree in Business Management from Instituto Superior de Ciências e Tecnologias de Moçambique, and has four years of experience in the banking sector at Millennium BIM and BCI. Thereafter he was a Senior Consultant at PwC Mozambique where he was an advisor in several M&A, Mining and Financial Services deals. He joined Source Capital in 2015, and leads the technical support function relating to tax, accounting, compliance and foreign exchange.

Gonçalo Anacoreta

Partner – Country Manager | Angola

Over the last 20 years, working in a multinational environment in 4 different countries (Switzerland, Portugal, Spain and Angola) in many sectors of activity (Transport Engineering, Management Consulting, Headhunting and Power).
Last 7 years  working in power sector, based in Luanda, working directly with the public and private sector in several countries of the region for one of the biggest OEMs.
Direct involvement in 300 MW thermal projects installation in Angola with a private company.

Miguel Sottomayor

Business Development & Expansion Manager | Mozambique / Angola

9 Years developing sales channel of Texas Instruments Including Personal Productivity Products  and Telecommunication company ONO (now Vodafone) in Spain.
During 4 years, launched and developed sales channels of Novis (now NOS) provider of services for internet, mobile and fixed telecoms owned by SONAE Group in Portugal.
6 years performing as Executive Director of Express Glass Angola and AS Glass Angola (PG Glass Africa), leading glass manufacturer & supplier of building and car glass products, and Sales Director at ECIL Group in Angola.
Over the past years was Managing Director at SolarWorks Mozambique one of the leading company of Solar Home Systems in Mozambique.

Filipa Manoel


Filipa joined in September 2015 where she has been involved in Corporate and Project Finance as well as Project Management on 200 MW of Renewable Energy Projects. With a Master’s degree in Business from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Filipa has worked with Espírito Santo Investment Bank in Portugal and later joined Moza Banco in Mozambique. She has experience in Corporate Finance and Advisory, was involved in several real estate and tourism deals. She has also worked with the major DFI’s operating in Mozambique.

Candida Macurra

Junior Executive

With 4 years of experience, Cândida was part of the Graduate Program 2016 at ABSA Bank, where she was a trainee in the Legal Department as a content assistant, Governance and Control as money-laundering analyst, performed as relationship manager assistant and debt assistant in Corporate and Investment Banking.
Cândida joined Source Capital in 2017 where primarily she supports Project Management of all Source projects and currently is focused on Development for Energy Projects.

Nércia Sumbane

Junior Accountant

Nércia joined Source Capital in January 2020 as Junior Accountant in the finance department. Before that, she spent four years studying Business Management at ISCTEM – Instituto Superior de Ciências e Tecnologias de Moçambique and studying English at Institute of Languages of Mozambique.

Jorge Cachaço


With a bachelor’s degree in business management by ISCTEM and over 20 years experience in Accounting, Audit and Financial Management, having provided audit, tax and accounting consulting for more than 30 companies in different business activities, Jorge joined Source Capital in 2019 where he has been involved in Investment Management and all Finance and Administrative activities of 200 MW of Renewable Energy and 30,000 sqm of Real Estate.
Jorge worked as head of accountant division of audit international company Grant Thornton Mozambique, also as head of finance division of Gravita Mozambique, a leading company in the metals
industry, and was founding partner of CC & SC, a Mozambican tax advisory firm.

Joaquim Rebelo

Junior Executive

Has a degree in Economics at Eduardo Mondlane University.
Made part of Internship at Société Generale Mozambique and Graduated Program at Millennium Bim which consisted of learning and developing improvement projects for each department.
Experienced with market research, designing and managing projects with feasibility and market studies.
